LPG New Rules: Will your LPG connection be cut? New government rules apply, do these important things immediately

LPG prices have risen recently, hitting people's pockets hard. Furthermore, a new rule has been implemented that LPG cylinders will be delivered 25 to 40 days after booking. The government has also made other important changes. Failure to do so could result in the disconnection of your LPG connection. This rule has come into effect worldwide on May 1, 2026.

What is the new LPG rule?
Recently, the government made an important decision regarding double gas connections. If you have an LPG gas connection and there is a gas pipeline in your home or nearby area, you must surrender the LPG cylinder. Otherwise, you will not receive gas supply. This rule came into effect on May 1st.

What's the solution?
According to new regulations, every LPG user must complete e-KYC verification. Those who haven't yet linked their Aadhaar or completed their KYC are facing significant difficulties in receiving cylinders. Additionally, an OTP-based cylinder delivery system will be implemented in many cities. It's crucial to provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number when purchasing a gas cylinder.

These citizens do not have a cylinder
Customers who got their last cylinder refilled before June 2025 will be considered 'inactive' users. Such customers will have to complete their e-KYC immediately. Otherwise, they may face problems while booking a new cylinder. After this rule comes into effect, if you ignore it, the gas service may suddenly stop. This may directly affect the customers who are getting subsidy. Therefore, immediately check whether your Aadhaar is linked or not, whether your e-KYC is complete or not and whether your mobile number is updated or not.
