New Delhi: If you use LPG in your home, this news is very important for you. Starting May 1st, major changes are coming to the rules for booking gas cylinders. These new changes will directly impact your pocket and your booking process. The government is preparing to impose certain restrictions, forcing consumers to be more cautious when booking cylinders.
Now not 21, next booking will be done only after this many days
The government has taken a tough decision regarding the time between booking gas cylinders. According to a report in Business Today, the time between bookings has been increased. Those living in urban areas will now have to wait 25 days instead of 21 days .
You'll only be able to book a second cylinder after a gap of 10 days. However, for rural areas, this limit could be up to 45 days . This means that if your cylinder runs out quickly, you may have to wait a long time for the next refill. Therefore, you'll need to carefully calculate your gas consumption.
What is the matter with Aadhaar eKYC?
The government has made Aadhaar-based biometric authentication (eKYC) mandatory for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries. The ministry clarified that this requirement applies only to customers who have not yet completed their eKYC process. General customers who have already completed this process do not need to stand in line again. Ujjwala Yojana customers will be required to undergo biometric verification once a year, preferably after receiving seven refills. This process is necessary to continue receiving the subsidy (DBT) from the eighth refill onwards.
Cylinder will not be available without OTP!
Along with stricter regulations, security is also being taken into account. Now, OTP (One Time Password) is required at the time of delivery.
It may become mandatory. This means that unless you provide the delivery person with the code received on your registered mobile number, you won't receive a cylinder. Furthermore, a possible increase in gas prices is being predicted at the oil companies' review meeting on May 1st, which could impact the common man's budget. How to book? Here's the easy way.
Despite all the changes, the digital booking process has remained relatively simple. You can book online by entering your registered mobile number.
