PM-Kisan Update 2026: Farmers Should Check These 5 Details Before the Next ₹2,000 Instalment

Farmers waiting for the next payment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme should ensure that their beneficiary information is accurate. An incomplete e-KYC, incorrect bank details or errors in land records can potentially create problems in receiving the benefit.
Under PM-Kisan, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually, generally paid in three instalments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
If you are a beneficiary, here are five important things worth checking before the next instalment is released.
1. Complete Your PM-Kisan e-KYC
e-KYC is an important requirement for PM-Kisan beneficiaries.
Farmers whose e-KYC remains incomplete should complete it through the authorised process. Depending on the available facility, beneficiaries may be able to use OTP-based e-KYC or visit an authorised centre for biometric verification.
Farmers should avoid unknown websites or agents promising instant verification.
2. Check Your Beneficiary Status
Farmers can check whether their beneficiary information is correctly reflected in the PM-Kisan system.
The status can help identify whether there is an issue involving e-KYC, bank information, Aadhaar details or other verification requirements.
If the previous instalment did not arrive, checking the status is one of the first steps a beneficiary should take.
3. Verify Your Bank Account Details
PM-Kisan payments are transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries.
An incorrect account number, beneficiary name mismatch or other banking issue can potentially affect payment processing.
Farmers should ensure that the bank account registered for the scheme is active and that the required details match their official records.
Never share an OTP, ATM PIN, UPI PIN or internet-banking password with anyone claiming to release a pending PM-Kisan instalment.
4. Check Aadhaar and Name Details
A mismatch between the name recorded in Aadhaar and the information submitted for PM-Kisan can create verification difficulties.
Beneficiaries should check the spelling of their name and other relevant information.
If a correction is required, use only the authorised Aadhaar or PM-Kisan correction process.
5. Make Sure Land Records Are Correct
Eligibility under PM-Kisan is also linked to applicable landholding and scheme conditions.
Farmers should ensure that their land information is correctly reflected in government records. Changes caused by inheritance, mutation or other ownership-related updates may need to be recorded through the appropriate revenue authority.
Land-record verification requirements can vary depending on the state.
How Much Money Do Farmers Receive Under PM-Kisan?
Eligible beneficiaries receive a total of ₹6,000 in a financial year, usually divided into three instalments:
-
₹2,000 – First instalment
-
₹2,000 – Second instalment
-
₹2,000 – Third instalment
The amount is transferred directly to the eligible beneficiary through DBT.
However, registration alone does not guarantee payment. Beneficiaries must continue to meet the eligibility and verification requirements of the scheme.
Beware of Fake PM-Kisan Messages
Farmers should be particularly careful about messages claiming that an instalment has been blocked and can be released by making a payment.
Do not click suspicious links or install APK files received through WhatsApp or SMS.
Government officials will not require your UPI PIN, ATM PIN, CVV or banking password to credit a PM-Kisan instalment.
What Should Farmers Do Now?
Farmers waiting for their next ₹2,000 payment should check their e-KYC, Aadhaar information, bank details, beneficiary status and land records in advance.
Correcting any pending issue before the next payment cycle can reduce the possibility of delays.
Beneficiaries should use the official PM-Kisan portal or authorised government service centres for updates and verification rather than depending on unverified social-media messages.
Disclaimer: PM-Kisan eligibility, payment schedules and verification requirements are subject to government rules and updates. Farmers should verify the latest information through official PM-Kisan or government channels.
