The Kerala Story 2 Teaser Out: ‘I Married Faizan and My Life Was Ruined,’ Film Set for February 27 Release

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who stirred massive debate and box-office success with The Kerala Story in 2023, is back with its sequel. On Friday, the makers unveiled the official teaser of The Kerala Story 2, offering a glimpse into a narrative that expands beyond Kerala and claims to be inspired by true events from multiple Indian states.

While the first film focused primarily on Kerala, the sequel broadens its scope to include stories from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, indicating a wider canvas and higher stakes.

What the Teaser Shows

The 2-minute-6-second teaser introduces three women — Surekha Nair from Kerala, Neha Sant from Madhya Pradesh, and Divya Paliwal from Rajasthan — each narrating her personal story. According to the teaser, all three fall in love with Muslim men, after which their lives take a tragic turn.

Surekha Nair shares that she once aspired to become an IAS officer and serve the country, but says she lost everything after falling in love with Salim.

Neha Sant, an ambitious javelin thrower who dreamed of winning an Olympic gold for India, says, “I married Faizan and my life was ruined.” In a disturbing revelation, her character claims that Faizan spoke about converting women as part of a larger mission.

Divya Paliwal, a young woman passionate about dance and social media, says she was deceived by Rashid and that her dreams were shattered as a result.

‘This Goes Beyond Kerala’

The teaser ends on a strong note, with the three women warning that if such forces succeed, India’s demographic balance could change. The screen flashes powerful lines suggesting that the issue goes beyond a single state and that it is time to fight back.

“This is no longer just the Kerala story,” the teaser declares, hinting at the film’s broader political and social messaging.

Cast, Director and Release Date

The Kerala Story 2 is directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha in lead roles.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on February 27.

The first installment had grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide, making it one of the most commercially successful and controversial films of its year. With the sequel expanding its narrative scope, all eyes are now on whether The Kerala Story 2 can recreate the same impact at the box office — and beyond.
