As the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, political activity in the state is intensifying, with leaders making strong statements and staking claims over key constituencies. In this backdrop, Tej Pratap Yadav, national president of the Janshakti Janata Dal and sitting MLA from Hasanpur, has once again sparked controversy with his sharp criticism of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Dr. Mukesh Roshan from Mahua.
During his visit to the Mahua Assembly constituency, Tej Pratap directly targeted the RJD MLA, calling him “useless” and accusing him of failing to deliver any real development. In a dramatic gesture, Tej Pratap lifted concrete from a damaged road in Mahua Market and displayed it to the public, questioning the quality of the work undertaken. He alleged that the MLA fund had been misused and claimed that the money had been directed only to Roshan’s relatives, including his brother and nephew, hinting at a scam that could expose many if investigated.
This attack is significant as Mahua holds special political importance for Tej Pratap Yadav. He was elected from Mahua in the past but shifted to Hasanpur in the 2020 elections. Now, he has indicated his intention to contest once again from Mahua, a seat currently held by Mukesh Roshan. By intensifying his criticism of the RJD and its local MLA, Tej Pratap is not only challenging his former party but also signaling his determination to reclaim the constituency.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Tej Pratap has launched attacks on leaders within his own family’s political sphere, including his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav. His latest remarks are expected to further complicate matters for the RJD in Mahua, potentially making the contest one of the most closely watched battles in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
