Samsung Galaxy M08, F08 Unveiled With 50MP Camera, 6,000mAh Battery and 6 Years of Updates

Samsung has expanded its budget smartphone portfolio in India with the introduction of two new models—the Samsung Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08. The two smartphones come with largely identical specifications, including a 50-megapixel primary camera, MediaTek processor, 6,000mAh battery and long-term software support.

One of the biggest highlights is Samsung's update commitment. According to the announced details, both smartphones are eligible for six generations of operating-system upgrades and six years of security updates, potentially giving buyers a much longer software-support window than is traditionally associated with entry-level smartphones.

Samsung has revealed the design and specifications of the devices, but pricing and detailed availability information have yet to be announced.

Here's everything currently known about the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08.

Samsung Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 Price in India

Samsung has listed the two smartphones for the Indian market, but their official prices have not yet been disclosed.

Both devices are listed in a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration.

The major visible difference between them is their colour treatment. The Galaxy M08 is offered in Dark Blue, while the Galaxy F08 comes in a Silver finish.

Further information regarding prices, introductory offers and sale availability is expected separately.

Because the official price has not yet been announced, reports describing either phone as being available at a particular price should be treated cautiously until Samsung confirms the figures.

6.7-Inch Display With 90Hz Refresh Rate

Both smartphones feature a 6.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels.

The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, which should provide smoother scrolling and animations than a conventional 60Hz panel in supported applications.

According to the listed specifications, the display is capable of reproducing around 16 million colours.

While the resolution remains HD+ rather than Full HD+, the larger display could appeal to users who regularly watch videos, browse social media or use their smartphones for online learning and other everyday tasks.

MediaTek Helio G99+ Powers Both Phones

Under the hood, the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 are powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset, manufactured using a 6nm process.

The processor configuration includes six efficiency-focused CPU cores clocked at up to 2GHz and two performance cores capable of reaching speeds of up to 2.2GHz.

The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage in the listed configuration.

The specifications position the two devices primarily as affordable smartphones designed for everyday activities such as messaging, social networking, video streaming, browsing and casual gaming.

Samsung Promises Six Years of Software Support

Long-term software support is one of the biggest talking points surrounding the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08.

According to Samsung's announced specifications, the phones run One UI 9 based on Android 17 and are promised six generations of operating-system upgrades along with six years of security updates.

If Samsung delivers updates according to that schedule, users could continue receiving major software features and security improvements for several years after purchasing the devices.

Long software-support periods can be particularly useful for consumers who don't replace their smartphones every two or three years.

50MP Main Camera on the Back

Samsung has equipped both smartphones with a dual-camera setup on the rear.

The primary sensor offers 50-megapixel resolution with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus support. According to the listed specifications, users also get up to 10x digital zoom.

The main camera is accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

On the front, the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera for photographs and video calls.

Video recording is supported at up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.

The 50MP primary sensor is likely to be one of the main features Samsung highlights when positioning the devices in India's competitive budget-smartphone segment.

Large 6,000mAh Battery

Battery capacity is another major highlight.

Both smartphones pack a 6,000mAh battery, which is larger than the 5,000mAh capacity commonly found on many budget smartphones.

Actual battery life will depend on factors including screen brightness, mobile-network conditions, gaming, video consumption and background applications.

The phones support 25W wired fast charging.

Buyers should check the retail package details at the time of purchase to confirm whether a compatible charger is included or needs to be purchased separately.

IP64 Rating for Dust and Splash Resistance

Samsung has also provided an IP64 rating on the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08.

The rating indicates protection against dust ingress at the specified level and resistance to water splashes.

However, an IP64 rating does not mean the smartphones are designed to survive being submerged in water. Users should therefore avoid treating them as waterproof devices.

4G Connectivity and 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Both smartphones support
