After spending nearly two months in theatres, Hanuman Ansh is finally beginning to lose momentum at the box office. The film started its theatrical run on a relatively slow note but gradually picked up pace and went on to become one of the biggest success stories of the year.
However, the arrival of Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 on October 2 has changed the theatrical equation. With audiences showing strong interest in the new release, theatre owners have reportedly reduced the number of shows available for Hanuman Ansh.
The result is already visible in the film's daily collections.
Hanuman Ansh earns only lakhs on Day 60
According to the latest box-office figures cited in the report, Hanuman Ansh collected around ₹7.5 lakh on its 60th day.
The film recorded approximately 1,475 shows, with theatre occupancy estimated at around 19%.
This is a sharp change from the period when the film was consistently bringing in crores at the box office.
Despite the slowdown, its overall performance remains extraordinary.
Worldwide collection crosses ₹424 crore
Hanuman Ansh has continued to perform strongly in international markets as well.
The film's reported worldwide gross has now reached approximately ₹424.24 crore, while its India gross has crossed the ₹384 crore mark.
Its overseas performance has also contributed significantly to the overall total.
At this stage, however, the film's journey towards the ₹500 crore milestone appears extremely difficult.
Drishyam 3 changes the box-office game
The biggest challenge for Hanuman Ansh is no longer its audience reception but the availability of theatrical shows.
With Drishyam 3 attracting audiences after its release, screens and show timings have increasingly been allocated to the newer film.
As a result, even people who may still want to watch Hanuman Ansh have fewer opportunities to see it in theatres.
The situation could become even more difficult as the film approaches its OTT release.
₹500 crore target now looks out of reach
Hanuman Ansh still has an impressive worldwide total, but its current daily earnings make the ₹500 crore target increasingly unrealistic.
The film would need a significant jump in collections to cover the remaining distance. With its number of shows falling and a major new release occupying screens, such a revival appears unlikely.
But missing the ₹500 crore mark should not overshadow what the film has already achieved.
A blockbuster made on a tiny budget
One of the most remarkable aspects of Hanuman Ansh's box-office journey is its reported production budget of only around ₹2 crore.
Against that investment, the film has generated worldwide collections of more than ₹424 crore.
That makes its theatrical run an extraordinary commercial success.
Even if the film eventually finishes below ₹500 crore, its performance will remain one of the most unusual success stories in Indian cinema, particularly considering how strongly it grew after its initial days.
The ₹500 crore milestone may remain unfinished
Hanuman Ansh may have started its journey quietly, but it managed to build tremendous momentum through word of mouth and sustained audience interest.
Now, after 60 days, its theatrical run appears to be entering its final phase.
Drishyam 3 has taken away a significant share of available screens, while the approaching OTT release could further reduce theatrical demand.
The ₹500 crore dream may therefore remain unfulfilled. But with more than ₹424 crore worldwide and an exceptionally small reported budget, Hanuman Ansh has already secured its place as one of the biggest surprise blockbusters of the year.
