After marriage, when she reached her in-laws’ house, she came to know that her husband and in-laws were not satisfied with the dowry. It was told that earlier also, when the dispute escalated, a compromise was reached with the help of the police, but there was no change in the behavior of the in-laws. Finally, in December 2025, she was beaten and thrown out of the house.
Demand for two lakh rupees and a bike:
According to the victim, her in-laws called her parents and told them that they would only agree to two lakh rupees in cash and a Hero Honda bike before the matter could proceed. The woman alleges that she was told that she had been divorced and that if she wanted to live together again, she must first undergo Halala (religious marriage). She was also subjected to abusive language.
