Tata Punch Gets More Expensive: Punch EV Price Hiked by Up to ₹20,000 — Check New Prices

The Tata Punch continues to be one of the most popular models in Tata Motors' lineup. Available with petrol, CNG and electric powertrains, the compact SUV has also become an important model for Tata in India's growing EV market.

However, buyers planning to purchase a Punch will now have to spend more. Tata Motors has revised prices across the Punch range, with some variants receiving a hike of up to ₹20,000.

Tata Punch petrol price increased by up to ₹10,000

The petrol-powered Tata Punch has become more expensive across several variants. Depending on the variant, prices have increased by ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.

Following the latest revision, the Punch petrol now has an ex-showroom price ranging from approximately ₹5.75 lakh to ₹10.77 lakh.

The revised prices are effective immediately, so customers booking a new Punch will have to pay according to the updated price list.

Punch EV gets a ₹20,000 price hike

The Tata Punch EV has also received a price increase.

The electric SUV is available in trims including Smart, Adventure and Empowered, with 30kWh and 40kWh battery options.

Under the latest revision:

  • The 30kWh Smart and Smart+ variants are now ₹10,000 more expensive.

  • Several 40kWh variants, including Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ S, have received a ₹20,000 hike.

The Punch EV now costs approximately ₹9.79 lakh to ₹12.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

No changes to features or powertrain

While prices have gone up, Tata Motors has not made any major changes to the Punch or Punch EV's features or mechanical components.

The Punch EV continues to be offered with two battery options. The 30kWh battery is paired with an electric motor producing around 88 PS, while the larger 40kWh battery comes with a motor producing approximately 130 PS.

According to Tata's claimed figures, the 30kWh version can travel up to 375 km on a single charge, while the 40kWh version offers a claimed range of up to 468 km.

Petrol and CNG versions are also available

For buyers who aren't ready to switch to an electric vehicle, the regular Punch continues to be available with petrol and CNG powertrains.

Depending on the variant, customers can also choose between manual and AMT gearbox options.

Tata continues to dominate India's EV market

Tata Motors remains a major player in India's electric passenger vehicle market.

According to the figures mentioned in the report, India recorded 30,686 electric car registrations in August 2026, representing a 52% increase compared with the same month last year.

Tata Motors accounted for 13,158 registrations, giving it an estimated EV market share of around 43%. Mahindra followed with 6,464 registrations, while JSW MG Motor recorded 4,622 units.

The Punch EV and Nexon EV have contributed significantly to Tata's overall electric vehicle sales.

With Tata and Mahindra together accounting for around 64% of India's electric car registrations in August, competition in the country's EV market continues to intensify.

For buyers considering the Punch or Punch EV, however, the key takeaway is simple: the latest price revision means you'll now need to spend up to ₹20,000 more, depending on the variant you choose.
