However, a little carelessness while using a public Wi-Fi network can pose a threat to your personal information and online accounts.

Don't immediately connect to any open Wi-Fi network.
When using public Wi-Fi, always check the network name first. A fake Wi-Fi network created by someone nearby can appear identical to the real network. Therefore, if possible, ask the staff for the correct network name and password before connecting.

Avoid banking and payment-related tasks.
It's best to avoid using internet banking, credit card payments, or any sensitive financial services on public Wi-Fi. Use mobile data for essential purposes. This keeps your connection more private.

Don't share passwords unnecessarily.
Don't enter your password, OTP, or other sensitive information on unknown websites, even when logging in on public networks. Also, avoid clicking on suspicious links.

Turn off the Auto-Connect feature.
When the Auto-Connect option is turned on, the device can automatically connect to nearby networks. For better security, turn off this feature and connect to a trusted network only when necessary.

Disconnect from public Wi-Fi when you're done
Forgetting a network is also a good option if your phone can automatically reconnect to that network in the future.
