PMAY: When will PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries receive their money? The government has provided a major update

There's good news for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin scheme. This is a welcome relief for those who had pending installments, which had stalled the construction of their homes. Since the government has approved the disbursement of new funds, the outstanding installments will soon be deposited into beneficiaries' accounts.

What is the PM Awas Yojana?
PM Awas Yojana is a scheme implemented for needy families in rural and urban areas. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries are provided financial assistance for building homes. Typically, grants range from ₹120,000 to ₹1.5 lakh. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide permanent homes to poor and homeless families.

Funds totaling ₹10,000 crore
have been approved from the central and state governments for the financial year 2026-27 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin General Component. The central government has approved ₹6,000 crore for this scheme, while state governments will contribute ₹4,000 crore. This brings the total funding for the housing scheme to ₹10,000 crore.
