KL Rahul has snatched the number one position from Abhishek Sharma by playing an innings of 75 runs against Rajasthan Royals. Now KL Rahul has reached the top by scoring 433 runs in 9 matches. Rahul has achieved this position by defeating Abhishek Sharma. Now Abhishek has 425 runs in 9 matches and he has slipped to the second position. Heinrich Klaasen is at number three. Heinrich Klaasen now has 414 runs in 9 matches. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has slipped to number 4. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is at number four by scoring 404 runs in the current season. Foreigners vs Indians in Orange Cap
In the 18 seasons so far, there has been a close competition between Indian and foreign players in the Orange Cap list. Overseas players have won the Orange Cap nine times, while Indian players have won it nine times. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli have won it twice each, while David Warner has won it three times. King Kohli holds the record for most runs in a single season. In 2016, he scored 973 runs with the help of four centuries.
Two players have been the luckiest
In IPL history, of all 18 Orange Cap winners, only two players have lifted the IPL trophy along with the Orange Cap. In 2014, Robin Uthappa won the Orange Cap with 660 runs in 16 matches, and that same year, KKR became champions for the second time. The other batsman is Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 235 runs in 16 matches in 2021. This year, CSK won the IPL trophy for the fourth time.
