The Indian team is scheduled to begin its tour of England on July 1st. The two countries will first play a five-match T20I series, for which Team India's squad has already been announced. The BCCI has now announced the ODI squad. Virat Kohli and Axar Patel have returned to the team after missing a series. Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the ODI squad for the first time since the 2023 World Cup.

Surprisingly, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century in the last ODI against Afghanistan, was left out of the team. Prince Yadav and Harsh Dubey were also dropped. Gurnour Brar and Prasidh Krishna were rewarded for their impressive performances, while Mohammed Siraj was overlooked.
