CNG consumers have once again been hit by inflation. State-owned gas distributor Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGH) has now increased the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), giving consumers a major shock. State-owned gas distributor Mahanagar Gas Limited has now increased retail rates by Rs 2 per kilogram.
This has increased the price of CNG in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and other parts of the MMR region to ₹86 per kilogram. The last price change was on May 14, when rates were raised by ₹2 per kilogram.
This move by MGMH will increase the operating costs of private vehicle owners, taxis, and public transport fleets that rely on CNG. However, CNG remains cheaper per kilometer than petrol and diesel, despite the previous increase in petrol and diesel prices.
