Millions of employees have EPFO accounts. Through the EPFO, employees are provided pensions after retirement. Meanwhile, a message regarding pensions is now circulating on social media. It claims that the minimum pension for employees will be Rs 7,500.
For several days, there has been a demand to increase the minimum pension for employees to Rs 7,500. Employees say that the current pension is not sufficient. Therefore, there have been calls for the approval of the EPS-95 pension. It is being claimed that it has now been approved. A letter with this content is currently going viral on social media.
Will the minimum pension of employees be Rs 7500?
Claims are being made on social media that employees' pensions will be ₹7,500. Meanwhile, it has come to light that the viral letter is fake. This information was provided by the Maharashtra DGPR. They posted on their X account stating that the viral letter, which claims that the EPS-95 pension of ₹7,500 has been approved, is false. There has been no official announcement from the Labor Ministry regarding this. Furthermore, #EPFO has clarified on social media that this letter is fake.
Therefore, it has been stated that no decision has yet been made regarding increasing the pension of employees. Therefore, do not believe these rumors. At present, the central government has not made any decision regarding increasing pensions. A decision is expected soon. However, the likelihood of the pension reaching 7500 is very low.
