Ahead of the Diwali festival, the government has given a significant gift to employees. This gift has been bestowed upon employees in Telangana. The state government has approved two increases of 3.64% and 2.73% in the dearness allowance (DA) of employees and dearness relief (DR) of pensioners.

The government will spend ₹1,747 crore for the 3.64% installment and ₹1,310 crore for the 2.73% installment. The Telangana government has determined the payment of DA arrears to employees based on different categories. Employees will be paid the amount based on their service and pension plan.

According to reports, DA arrears for employees covered by the General Provident Fund (GPF) will be deposited into their GPF accounts. Employees retiring on or before January 31, 2027, will receive the outstanding amount in 33 equal monthly installments.
