Babydoll Archi: After breakup, lover created adult personality with AI, gathered 14 lakh followers through fake Instagram account, accused arrested

Engineer Creates AI-Generated Adult Influencer After Breakup, Earns ₹10 Lakh, Arrested in Assam

In a startling case that highlights the dark side of artificial intelligence, an engineer from Assam was arrested for creating a fake adult personality using AI tools and his ex-girlfriend’s photograph. The fabricated identity, named "Babydoll Archi," amassed over 1.4 million followers on Instagram and generated obscene content that earned the accused more than ₹10 lakh. Authorities have confirmed the entire content was AI-generated, and the motive initially stemmed from revenge.

AI Tools Used to Create Fake Personality

According to police sources, the accused—identified as a mechanical engineer—leveraged popular AI-generation platforms like Midjourney AI, Desire AI, and OpenArt AI to fabricate the identity of Babydoll Archi. He allegedly used a real image of his ex-girlfriend and digitally morphed her face onto artificially created adult bodies. These images and videos were then shared on Instagram to build a fake yet highly engaging persona.

The Instagram account, created in August 2020, remained under the radar until June 2025, when a viral video of “Archie” changing a saree to a Spanish song exploded in popularity. Shortly after, an AI-generated image featuring the fictional character alongside popular adult actress Kendra Lust helped the page skyrocket from 82,000 to 1.2 million followers in just a few days.

Fake Backstory and Digital Deception

To make the profile look authentic, the accused fabricated a detailed backstory for "Archi." He falsely claimed she had worked as a sex worker at Delhi’s infamous GB Road for six years and had recently bought her freedom for ₹25 lakh. Posts were carefully geo-tagged to Delhi and Mumbai, and staged travel videos were uploaded to add legitimacy.

Police later discovered that the content was completely fictitious and aimed at monetizing viewership through explicit AI-generated visuals. The engineer used fake Gmail IDs and multiple social media handles to run the account and had built a substantial income stream through subscription-based access and engagement farming.

Victim Files Complaint, Police Take Action

The case unraveled after the young woman, whose image had been misused, lodged a complaint with the cybercrime department in Dibrugarh. She reported severe emotional distress caused by the unauthorized use of her image in obscene digital content. Acting on the complaint, the Assam Police arrested the accused on July 12 from Tinsukia and charged him under multiple sections of the cybercrime and defamation laws.

According to Dibrugarh SSP Sajal Agarwal, this incident marks a dangerous precedent in AI misuse. “What might appear as a joke or fantasy on the internet can have devastating effects on a person’s mental well-being,” he said in an official statement. He also urged internet users to adhere to cybersecurity norms and promptly report such digital offenses.

Name Changed to Evade Arrest

During the investigation, it was found that the accused had sensed police action and attempted to evade arrest by changing the name of the Instagram account from Babydoll Archi to Amira Ishtara. Despite this, authorities tracked him down and are now conducting a deeper probe into his financial records and digital footprint.

Growing Threat of AI Misuse

This case has raised alarm bells across the country about the misuse of AI in cybercrimes, especially for creating deepfakes, impersonation, and explicit content. It underscores the urgent need for stricter digital regulations and awareness among users regarding the ethical use of AI tools.

Legal Consequences for Content Sharers

SSP Agarwal also confirmed that not only the creator but those who shared or commented on the fake obscene content could face legal repercussions. "All visuals and videos from the account were confirmed to be AI-generated and fake. Those involved in promoting or engaging with such content inappropriately will also be subject to legal action," he warned.
