The government has set new rules for making Ayushman cards. Aadhaar-based e-KYC will now be required for Ayushman cards. Without e-KYC, neither a new card will be issued nor will treatment on an old card be guaranteed. This means that those with incomplete records may lose their free treatment.

The National Health Authority has further tightened the card issuance process. A new system called BIS 2.0 has been implemented. Under this system, beneficiaries will be reliably identified through Aadhaar to ensure that the wrong people do not benefit from the scheme.

The government has also begun using artificial intelligence to detect fraud. Investigations have so far found thousands of Ayushman cards to be suspicious. Physical verification of many cards is underway, and those found to be fraudulent will be immediately terminated for medical services.

The rules for adding new family members to the Ayushman card have also been tightened. This was previously easy, but now it's difficult to add a new name without proper documentation and verification. The goal is to ensure that only needy families remain eligible for the scheme.

The government says the changes were necessary because many people who were not eligible were taking advantage of the scheme. This was straining government resources and harming those truly in need. The new rules were introduced to clean up the system.

If your Ayushman card isn't linked to Aadhaar or your information is incorrect, you may face difficulties during treatment. Therefore, it's recommended to check your e-KYC and card status in a timely manner so that you don't face any obstacles in receiving free treatment if needed.
