Aadhaar–PAN Linking Deadline Near: Complete This Task Soon or Face Consequences

If you have a PAN card, this update is extremely important for you. The government has once again reminded taxpayers to link their Aadhaar card with PAN, failing which the PAN may become inactive, affecting financial transactions.

The Income Tax Department has urged citizens to complete the Aadhaar–PAN linking process as soon as possible to avoid penalties and disruptions.

Why Aadhaar–PAN Linking Is Mandatory

Linking Aadhaar with PAN helps the government:

  • Prevent tax evasion

  • Eliminate duplicate or fake PAN cards

  • Simplify income tax filing and verification

Once linked, taxpayers can easily file returns, receive refunds, and carry out financial transactions without issues.

What Happens If You Don’t Link Them?

If Aadhaar is not linked with PAN:

  • PAN may become inoperative

  • You won’t be able to file income tax returns

  • TDS/TCS may be deducted at a higher rate

  • Bank accounts and investments linked to PAN may face problems
