WhatsApp users are about to get a new feature they've been waiting for. This feature is specifically for new group members.
WhatsApp is soon bringing another amazing feature for users, which will solve a long-standing problem. This feature of WhatsApp was recently spotted in the beta version. This feature was first seen in the beta version of Android. Now this feature has been spotted in the beta version of iOS for iPhone users. If reports are to be believed, Meta's instant messaging platform may soon roll out this feature in the stable version.
What is the new group chat feature?
According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature may be rolled out for group users on WhatsApp. Currently, when a new user joins a WhatsApp group, they don't have access to the group's previous messages. WhatsApp is testing this feature for new group members. Users will be able to see the group's previous chats after joining a new group, though a limit will be set for this.
According to the report, this feature for WhatsApp groups is being tested for both Android and iPhone users. Whenever a new user joins a group, they will see up to 100 messages from the last 14 days. Once this feature is implemented, new users will also have access to important messages in the group. Additionally, the name of the member who added the new user to the group will also flash.
Beta testing is underway
According to information shared by WABetaInfo, whenever someone taps the option to add a new member to a WhatsApp group, they will have the option to share old messages from the group with the new member. However, this feature will be disabled by default in WhatsApp. Therefore, users can choose to share old messages with new members or, if not needed, they can choose not to share them. This feature is currently available in beta for iPhone users. When it is rolled out stably, all users will be able to use this feature.
