Premium motorcycle maker Triumph Motorcycles has achieved a major milestone in India, with more than one lakh motorcycles now running on Indian roads. The achievement comes within just two and a half years of the strategic partnership between Bajaj Auto and Triumph, highlighting the rapid growth of the British brand in the country’s premium motorcycle market.
Industry experts say the company is now emerging as a strong competitor to Royal Enfield, which has long dominated the mid-capacity motorcycle segment in India.
Bajaj–Triumph Partnership Driving Growth
Triumph’s rapid expansion in India has largely been driven by its collaboration with Bajaj Auto, which began in the second quarter of 2023. Under this partnership, Bajaj handles the manufacturing and distribution of Triumph motorcycles in India.
With Bajaj’s strong production capabilities, research and development resources, and an extensive dealership network, the brand has been able to reach a wider audience of premium motorcycle buyers in a relatively short time.
Presence Expands to Over 200 Cities
Over the past few years, Triumph has significantly expanded its retail footprint across India. The brand is now present in more than 200 cities and operates through over 230 dealerships and sales outlets.
This expansion has helped the company connect with a growing base of riders interested in premium mid-capacity motorcycles.
Made-in-India Bikes Exported Worldwide
Triumph’s 400cc motorcycle range, manufactured in India, is not limited to the domestic market. These motorcycles are currently being exported to 18 international markets, including Japan, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan and South Korea.
The global demand for these models indicates that motorcycles produced in India are meeting international standards of quality, performance and reliability.
New 350cc Models Expected in 2026
The Bajaj–Triumph partnership is also preparing to expand its lineup further. According to Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director and CEO of Bajaj Auto, a new 350cc range of Triumph motorcycles is expected to launch around April 2026.
The upcoming models could complement or partially replace the existing lineup, which currently includes the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
Industry reports suggest the new motorcycles may be designed with upcoming GST 2.0 regulations in mind, allowing the company to keep prices competitive while expanding its reach in the mid-capacity segment.
With strong sales momentum, expanding dealerships and new models on the horizon, Triumph appears set to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly growing premium motorcycle market.
