Renault is set to launch the facelifted version of the Kiger compact SUV on August 24, offering an appealing and affordable option in India’s sub-4 meter SUV segment. Priced to remain close to the current range of Rs 6.15 lakh to Rs 11.23 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Kiger aims to attract buyers looking for style, features, and value, competing directly with rivals like the Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Maruti Brezza.
The updated Kiger comes with significant cosmetic upgrades including a redesigned front grille featuring Renault's new logo, sporty C-shaped taillamps, a shark fin antenna, and a sporty rear bumper. It will also introduce a fresh bright green color option. Most of the side profile remains unchanged with signature design elements such as dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, a tapering roofline, thick body cladding, roof rails, and square wheel arches retained.
Under the hood, mechanicals remain the same, continuing with two petrol engines: a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated unit producing 72 PS and 96 Nm, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 100 PS and 160 Nm torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Additionally, a CNG variant will be available as a retrofit option at dealerships.
Inside, while details are limited, the facelifted Kiger is expected to sport a new freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a revamped cabin theme, and new seat upholstery. Existing features such as the 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless charger, automatic AC, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, steering-mounted controls, air filter, and ambient lighting are likely to continue.
With these updates, the 2025 Renault Kiger seeks to bolster its appeal in the highly competitive compact SUV market by blending fresh aesthetics with a proven powertrain and modern amenities—all within an affordable pricing bracket under Rs 7 lakh. The launch will be closely watched by customers weighing options between this SUV and segment rivals like Punch and Brezza.
