Rajasthan CM Youth Self-Employment Scheme Sees Over 5,000 Applications in 10 Days

The Rajasthan government’s Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme has received an encouraging response from across the state, with more than 5,000 applications submitted within 10 days of the application process opening. The scheme aims to promote entrepreneurship among youth by providing interest-free loans of up to ₹10 lakh.

Launched by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on January 12, the scheme targets the establishment of micro-enterprises in the manufacturing, service, and trade sectors. Detailed guidelines were issued on January 15, and online applications were opened from January 22.

Industry and Commerce Commissioner Suresh Kumar Ola said that a total of 5,089 applications have been received so far, reflecting strong enthusiasm among young entrepreneurs. The applications will be scrutinised at the district level and subsequently forwarded to banks for loan approval and disbursement.

Interest-Free Loans and Financial Support

Under the scheme, the state government will bear the entire interest burden on the loans. In addition, provisions have been made for reimbursement of margin money up to ₹50,000 and the CGTMSE (Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises) fee, reducing the financial burden on beneficiaries.

The government aims to extend benefits under the scheme to one lakh youth across the state.
