Petrol and diesel prices remained mostly stable across major Indian cities on October 5. The average price of petrol in the country is ₹111.21 per liter, while diesel costs ₹97.83 per liter.
India's state-owned oil marketing companies are facing severe financial crunch due to the rapid rise in global crude oil prices. According to rating agency ICRA, these fuel retailers are losing approximately ₹530 crore every day as pump prices of petrol and diesel remain unchanged despite the international rally.
Petrol is available in Mumbai at ₹111.21 per liter, the same as the previous day's rate. Diesel in the financial capital is priced at ₹97.83 per liter. In Delhi, petrol is available at ₹102.12 per liter, while diesel is selling at ₹95.20 per liter, reflecting the national capital's lower fuel prices compared to other metro cities.
