Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali May Revive 'Inshallah': Story to Get a Fresh Makeover After 'Love and War'

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-discussed film 'Inshallah' could be making its way back into the spotlight. The project, which was originally announced in 2019 with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt, was eventually shelved following creative differences.

Now, fresh reports suggest that Bhansali and Alia Bhatt may revisit the project after completing their current collaboration, 'Love and War'. However, the film may not be exactly the same as the version that was planned several years ago.

The story may remain, but the script could change

'Inshallah' was originally planned as a romantic drama featuring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. The project generated considerable excitement when it was announced, but production was eventually halted.

Bhansali had previously spoken about how emotional Alia was when she learned that the film would not move forward.

According to a report by Mid-Day, discussions about reviving the project have now reportedly begun. A source quoted in the report suggested that the central story would remain intact, but the screenplay and presentation could be significantly reworked.

This means audiences shouldn't necessarily expect the same 'Inshallah' that was announced in 2019. Bhansali could give the project a new treatment while retaining its fundamental storyline.

Casting is still undecided

While Alia Bhatt's involvement has been linked to the revived project, there is reportedly no final decision yet regarding the male lead.

Several names have previously been associated with the project. Salman Khan was originally supposed to headline the film, while Shah Rukh Khan was later rumoured to be under consideration following Salman's departure.

However, neither possibility has been officially confirmed.

A source reportedly said that Bhansali wants to finalize the screenplay before making any casting decisions. The director could even consider a younger actor if the revised story demands it.

What about Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan?

Salman Khan's schedule is already occupied with upcoming projects, while Shah Rukh Khan is also yet to announce his next project after 'King'.

This leaves the door open for Bhansali to explore other casting possibilities.

For now, therefore, it would be premature to assume that either Salman or Shah Rukh will be part of the film.

Alia and Bhansali's next collaboration

Alia Bhatt is currently working with Bhansali on 'Love and War', making a potential reunion for 'Inshallah' particularly interesting.

If the reports turn out to be accurate, the duo could move from one major project directly into another.

However, neither Bhansali nor Alia has officially announced that 'Inshallah' has been revived. Until an official confirmation arrives, the reported developments should be treated as early discussions rather than a confirmed production.

One thing appears clear: if 'Inshallah' does return, audiences may get a considerably different version of the film originally announced in 2019.
