PAN Card Update Made Easy: Change Name, Address, and Mobile Number Online from Home

Updating details on your PAN card has now become a hassle-free online process. Whether you need to correct a spelling mistake in your name, update an old address, or change your registered mobile number, everything can be done digitally without visiting any office or agent. Since a PAN card is essential for banking, taxation, investments, and property transactions, keeping your information accurate is extremely important.

To make corrections, you need to visit the official portals of NSDL (Protean eGov) or UTIITSL. On the website, select the option for “Changes or Correction in PAN,” then enter basic details such as your PAN number, name, date of birth, and email ID. Once submitted, a 15-digit token number will be generated, which allows you to proceed further.

After this, you can enter the updated information you wish to change and upload supporting documents such as identity proof, address proof, date of birth proof, along with your photograph and signature. Once the documents are uploaded, you simply need to pay the applicable fee and submit the form. An acknowledgement slip will be generated at the end, which can be used to track the status of your application.

For applicants residing in India, the correction fee is ₹50 (including GST). For Indians living abroad, the fee is approximately ₹959. After successful submission and verification, the updated PAN card is usually issued within 15 to 20 working days, though it may take slightly longer if there are discrepancies in the documents.

Updating your PAN card details on time is crucial, as incorrect information can cause delays or rejections in banking, tax filing, investments, and property-related transactions. With the online process now simplified, keeping your PAN details accurate is easier than ever—and can be done comfortably from home.
