Newlywed Man Shot Dead at In-Laws’ Home in Khagaria; Wife Among Four Arrested

A shocking murder case has surfaced from Khagaria district, where a 22-year-old newly married man was allegedly killed at his in-laws’ residence. The incident occurred early Thursday morning in Mathar Janli Tola under the Mufassil Police Station area.

The deceased has been identified as Tonish Yadav, a resident of Dandari. He had been married for just over a month.

Incident details

According to police, Tonish had come to his in-laws’ house around eight days ago and was scheduled to return home on Thursday. However, shortly before his departure, he was allegedly shot dead. Locals alerted the police, who reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The killing triggered panic in the area, and a large number of local residents gathered at the scene.

Allegations of illicit relationship

Tonish’s family has made serious allegations, claiming that his wife was involved in an illicit relationship with her brother-in-law. According to the family, this was the woman’s second marriage, and she was unhappy with Tonish. They allege that a conspiracy was hatched to eliminate him so the relationship could continue.

Police have stated that these allegations are part of the investigation and are being verified through evidence and questioning.

Four arrested, main accused absconding

Confirming the action taken so far, Sangeeta Kumari, Officer-in-Charge of Mufassil Police Station, said that an FIR has been registered against five accused.

So far, four people—including the wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law—have been arrested. The main accused, identified as the wife’s alleged partner, is currently absconding. Police teams are conducting raids to trace and arrest him.

Family in mourning

Tonish Yadav was the youngest among five brothers and worked as a labourer to support his family. His sudden death has plunged both families in Begusarai and Khagaria into deep grief.

Police officials stated that the case is being investigated from all angles and assured that the remaining accused would be arrested soon.
