A wave of bomb threats has gripped schools across major Indian cities, causing widespread panic among students, teachers, and parents. On Friday alone, over 80 schools in Delhi and Bengaluru received bomb threats, continuing a disturbing trend that has intensified over the past week.

In Bengaluru, at least 40 private schools, including institutions in Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, were targeted through alarming emails. The Bengaluru City Police swiftly responded by deploying bomb detection and investigation teams to affected campuses to ensure student safety.

Meanwhile, Delhi witnessed a similar scare, with around 50 schools receiving bomb threats on Friday morning. Among the targeted schools were St. Xavier’s School in Civil Lines, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, and Abhinav Public School and The Sovereign School in Rohini. This marks the fourth consecutive day of such threats in the national capital.

The threatening emails, sent from roadkill333@atomicmail.io, included disturbing language and claimed that TNT explosives were planted inside schools. Investigations suggest the emails were sent through encrypted networks and VPNs, making it difficult to trace their origin.

Mumbai has not been spared either. The Swami Vivekanand International School in Kandivali, along with two other local schools, received similar threats via email. The Mumbai Police Bomb Squad conducted thorough searches of the premises and found no explosive materials. Police have initially labeled the threats as hoaxes, but investigations are ongoing to identify the culprits and their motives.

In total, nearly 100 schools across India have received bomb threats in the past week—around 60 in Delhi alone. These repeated incidents have deeply unsettled school communities and raised serious concerns about safety and psychological impacts on children.

A senior Delhi Police official commented, “Tracking someone on the dark web is like chasing shadows in a room full of mirrors. Just when you think you’ve found a clue, it disappears behind another layer of anonymity.”

Authorities across states are treating the situation with high seriousness, while cybercrime teams and intelligence agencies are working to identify and apprehend those responsible. In the meantime, schools continue to operate under heightened security protocols.
