Mahindra’s Smallest SUV Launched in Electric Avatar, Charges in 50 Minutes with Impressive Range

Mahindra has officially launched the electric version of its smallest SUV, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, in India. The new XUV 3XO EV has been priced between ₹13.89 lakh and ₹14.96 lakh (ex-showroom). According to the company, deliveries will begin from February 23, 2026. Mahindra recently showcased a preview of the electric SUV in Jaisalmer.

Mahindra stated that in some states, after applying government subsidies, the on-road price of the top-end electric variant could be similar to—or even lower than—the equivalent petrol variant. The XUV 3XO was first introduced in April 2024 and has already sold around 1.8 lakh units. The company claims it is among the fastest-growing SUVs in its segment and is close to crossing the 2 lakh sales milestone.

Variants, battery and performance

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is available in two variants: AX5 EV and AX7L EV. Both variants are powered by a 39.4 kWh battery pack that generates 110 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. In real-world driving conditions, the SUV offers a range of around 285 km on a single charge.

In terms of performance, the XUV 3XO EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. It also offers three drive modes—Fun, Fast, and Fearless—allowing drivers to choose between efficiency and performance based on their needs.

Price and features of both variants

The AX5 EV variant is priced at ₹13.89 lakh. It comes equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens, LED headlamps, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, keyless entry, and an electronic parking brake. On the safety front, it offers six airbags, ESP, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear camera.

The top-spec AX7L EV variant costs ₹14.96 lakh and adds several premium features. These include a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, a premium sound system, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance features.

Fast charging in 50 minutes

Both variants of the XUV 3XO EV support fast charging. Using a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. Mahindra has clarified that this electric SUV is designed mainly for urban users with city-focused driving needs.

The company also emphasized that the launch of the electric version does not signal the discontinuation of petrol or diesel models. Instead, it aims to offer customers more choices. Production of the XUV 3XO EV has already started, and deliveries are set to begin by the end of February 2026.
