A wedding from Baroda Meo town in Rajasthan’s Alwar district has suddenly grabbed widespread attention, not for its celebration but for the shocking past of the bride and groom. Priya Seth and Hanuman Prasad, both serving life sentences in separate murder cases, got married after being granted parole following a High Court order. Their wedding, held in the Holi Chowk area of Baroda Meo, has sparked intense discussion, especially as Priya’s wedding card has gone viral on social media.
Priya Seth first came into the national spotlight nearly eight years ago for her role in a sensational murder case. A resident of Pali district, she was convicted for trapping and killing a young man, Dushyant Sharma, as part of a well-planned conspiracy. Using a dating app, Priya lured Dushyant, a Jhotwara resident, into a relationship in 2018 to arrange money for her then-lover Dikshant Kamra, who was burdened with debt.
A Love Trap That Ended in Murder
On May 2, 2018, Priya called Dushyant to meet her and took him to her flat in Jaipur’s Bajaj Nagar. Unbeknownst to him, Dikshant Kamra and his friend Lakshya Walia were already waiting there. The trio held Dushyant captive and demanded ₹10 lakh as ransom from his father. Though ₹3 lakh was transferred to Dushyant’s account, fear of arrest led the accused to strangle him to death. To hide his identity, his face was disfigured, and his body was stuffed into a suitcase and dumped in the Amer hills.
Following an FIR lodged by Dushyant’s father, Amer police recovered the body on May 3, 2018. All three accused were arrested the next day. Despite coming from a well-educated family—her grandfather a principal, father a college lecturer, and mother a government school teacher—Priya’s life took a dark turn after she moved to Jaipur for higher studies.
How Priya’s Life Went Off Track
While staying with relatives in Jaipur, Priya reportedly fell into bad company and later shifted to a paying guest accommodation. To fund her lavish lifestyle, she allegedly began luring young men and extorting money. During this period, she met Dikshant Kamra, a Mumbai-based model from Sri Ganganagar. The two entered a live-in relationship, which ultimately led to the conspiracy against Dushyant.
Dushyant’s Claim of Wealth Became His Undoing
Dushyant had introduced himself to Priya as a millionaire from Delhi, which reportedly motivated her to plan a major extortion. She involved Dikshant and Lakshya in the scheme, which tragically culminated in murder. In May 2024, a Jaipur court convicted all three and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
Who Is the Groom, Hanuman Prasad?
The groom, Hanuman Prasad, also has a chilling criminal history. In October 2017, he murdered Taekwondo player Santosh Sharma’s husband, Banwari Lal, and their four children in Shivaji Park. After sedating them with sleeping pills, he slit their throats. Hanuman fled to Udaipur but was arrested two days later. Investigations revealed that he and Santosh were in a relationship, despite her being 10 years older. She allegedly persuaded him to kill her family so they could be together. Both were later sentenced to life imprisonment.
A Wedding That Shocked Many
Priya Seth, now 33, and Hanuman Prasad, 32, reportedly grew close while serving sentences in Jaipur’s open jail. Their friendship turned into a relationship over the past six months. On January 23, they formalized their bond in marriage while on parole. The unusual union of two convicted murderers has become the talk of the region, raising eyebrows and sparking debate across social and legal circles.
