There are two posts for widows of Defence personnel, 1 for SSC (W) Tech and
1 for SSC (W) (Non-Technical) (Non-UPSC).

Candidates holding a BE/BTech degree in a relevant engineering discipline are eligible to apply. Students in the final year of an engineering degree course are also eligible, provided they
submit proof of passing the engineering degree examination and mark sheets for all semesters/years by October 1, 2026.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years. Candidates must have been born between October 1, 1999, and September 30, 2006. Age will be calculated as of October 1, 2026. Applicants must also meet the prescribed physical standards. See the notification for details.

Selection Process

Based on the eligibility criteria and marks submitted in the application form, candidates will be shortlisted and called for an SSB interview. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a psychological test, group test, and interview at the selection center. This selection process will be conducted in two phases over five days. Only fully qualified candidates will be recruited for training. The Short Service Commission course will commence in October 2026 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (Officers Training Academy, Gaya, Bihar).

Pay scale

A monthly stipend of ₹56,100 will be provided during training. Upon completion of training, the rank of Lieutenant will be awarded. This rank carries a pay scale of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500. In addition, ₹15,500 will be paid as military service pay. For details on other allowances, please see the notification.
