An Aadhaar card is a 12-digit unique identity number voluntarily issued to residents of India based on their biometric and demographic information. It is managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, in accordance with the Aadhaar Act, 2016.
