Jailer 2: Shah Rukh Khan to Return for Rajinikanth’s Film After King? Here’s How Long He May Shoot

Several big-ticket South Indian films are currently in production, with releases lined up through 2026 and beyond. Among them, Jailer 2—starring Rajinikanth—is one of the most anticipated. While fans are still waiting for an official release date, fresh buzz around a possible Shah Rukh Khan cameo has reignited excitement.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Schedule: King First, Jailer 2 Next?

Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film King, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and is slated for a December release.

However, reports suggest that Jailer 2 will hit screens before King—and that SRK may briefly join the sequel’s shoot once he wraps his current commitments.

When Will Shah Rukh Khan Shoot for Jailer 2?

According to a report by Valai Pechu, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to shoot for Jailer 2 for around 7–8 days. The report claims that this short schedule—possibly in March 2026—will cover the final remaining portion of the film’s shoot. After that, the movie is expected to move fully into post-production.

It’s important to note that this remains unconfirmed, as the makers have not made any official announcement regarding SRK’s involvement.

Star-Studded Cast and Big Cameos

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 will once again see Rajinikanth reprise his iconic role as Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel is also expected to feature:

  • Mohanlal

  • Shiva Rajkumar

  • Mithun Chakraborty

  • Vidya Balan

Actor SJ Suryah is reportedly playing the antagonist, while Nora Fatehi has already shot a special dance number.

What’s Next for Rajinikanth?

Beyond Jailer 2, Rajinikanth is also set to collaborate with Kamal Haasan on an upcoming project tentatively titled KHxRK. Reports suggest the title promo is scheduled to release on February 21, possibly accompanied by a special theatrical video.
