Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar 2 continues its dream run at the box office, not just in India but across international markets as well. The film has now achieved a major milestone by overtaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in the United Kingdom, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in that market.
According to trade reports, Dhurandhar 2 has collected around £4.388 million (approximately ₹462 crore) in the UK, slightly surpassing Pathaan, which had earned £4.380 million (around ₹461 crore). While the difference may seem small, it is significant enough to push Ranveer Singh’s film to the number one spot in one of the most important overseas markets for Indian cinema.
The success of Dhurandhar 2 builds on the strong performance of its predecessor, taking the franchise’s combined global earnings beyond ₹3,000 crore. This cements it as one of the most successful Indian film franchises in recent times. The film is still running in theatres, which means its lead could widen further in the coming days.
Interestingly, the UK box office has traditionally been dominated by films of Shah Rukh Khan, with titles like Jawan and Pathaan setting benchmarks. Other major films in the UK top charts include Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan featuring Salman Khan, and My Name Is Khan. However, Dhurandhar 2 has now climbed to the top, reshuffling this elite list.
Despite this achievement, Dhurandhar 2 still trails behind some all-time global giants like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Dangal in overall worldwide collections. But its current momentum suggests it could challenge more records if the theatrical run continues strongly.
In short, while Shah Rukh Khan’s dominance in overseas markets has been remarkable over the years, Ranveer Singh has now delivered a major upset in the UK, marking a significant shift in box office rankings.
