If you are a YouTuber and create and promote content on YouTube, then this news is very important for you. YouTube, one of the oldest and most popular video streaming platforms, is cracking down on non-original and repetitive content. This is part of the latest update of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), and the new policy will be applicable to content creators from July 15, 2025. In simple language, understand it like this: if you have copied content or uploaded the same video repeatedly, then there will be no revenue on it.

No earnings on repeated or reused content
The main objective of the new policy is to remove content that has been reused extensively and gives no value or very little value to the audience. That is, if the same thing has been said in the videos every time, then money will not be available on such videos. The revised guidelines have been published on YouTube's official support page, which clearly states that only original and authentic content will be promoted and monetised by the platform.
Why did YouTube change the policy for its content creators?
YouTube aims to protect real creators and reduce the number of channels, especially those that are abusing the platform. These channels are uploading a variety of content, such as:
– Clickbait
– Low quality
– Repetitive videos
The company has also stressed that all content should contribute to education or entertainment, and not videos created just to chase views. Posting the same type of videos repeatedly, such as reaction mashups, AI-generated slideshows, or overly edited versions of someone else's content, will now lead to monetization restrictions for creators.
What content will be monetised on YouTube from July 15?
YouTube has made it clear that only those content creators will get the benefit of monetization who are continuously creating original content. Such videos will include:
1. Educational videos that inform and educate the audience.
2. Entertainment videos that are creative and engaging
3. Original voices and visuals that are not copied from anywhere
Whose videos will be monetized?
To apply for the YouTube Partner Program, content creators must meet the minimum eligibility standards:
1. 1,000 subscribers
2. 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months
or
10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days
After meeting these conditions, YouTube will check the originality of your content and then approve monetization.
No more monetization from copy-paste channels
YouTube's new rules make it clear that content creators will not be able to earn anything using these methods:
1. Copying content
2. Reusing content
3. Lazily editing existing content
From July 15, the focus will be on building a creative, high-quality content ecosystem. Eligibility Criteria for Monetization.
