With rapid digital transformation in banking, customers can now withdraw cash from ATMs without using a debit or ATM card. Using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), users can simply scan a QR code with their smartphone and complete the withdrawal securely.
Several banks in India have started enabling the UPI Cash Withdrawal feature on ATMs, making the process easier and reducing the risk of frauds such as card cloning and skimming.
What Is UPI Cash Withdrawal?
UPI-based ATM withdrawal is a digital banking facility that allows customers to withdraw money directly from an ATM using a UPI-enabled mobile app instead of a physical debit card.
When the user selects the UPI Cash Withdrawal option on the ATM screen, the machine generates a QR code. The customer scans this QR code using a UPI app such as PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm, enters the UPI PIN, and the ATM dispenses the requested amount.
