Zelensky Criticized India: Ukrainian President Zelensky accused India of double standards, condemning the attack on Putin's residence but remaining silent on the attacks in Russia.
Zelensky Slams PM Modi Statement: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized India and some other countries, particularly Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on Tuesday expressed concern over reports of a drone strike on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence. Ukraine has now expressed its objection to this and criticized PM Modi. Zelensky rejected these allegations, saying that Ukraine did not carry out any such attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused India of adopting a double standard, saying that India and some other countries condemned the attack on Putin's residence, but never responded to the attacks on our children. The Ukrainian president is reportedly extremely upset with Prime Minister Modi's response.
Angered by India's response
Volodymyr Zelensky said in an online press conference that it is confusing and bad that India, the UAE, and other countries condemned the alleged attack on Putin's residence, even though there is no evidence of the attack. He stressed that these countries never condemned Russia's attacks on Ukraine and the deaths of civilians, especially children. Zelensky also said that such reactions are detrimental to peace efforts and provide an opportunity to justify Russia's actions.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Tsibiha also commented on the issue, saying that Kyiv was disappointed and concerned by the reactions from India, the UAE, and Pakistan. He added that Russia had yet to provide credible evidence that an attack had occurred. Tsibiha stated that Russia had no such evidence because no such attack actually occurred. He stressed that such misunderstandings and accusations could derail peace talks.
Russia accused of disrupting peace talks
Zelensky concluded by stating that Russia is attempting to disrupt peace talks and that many countries are being misled by such accusations. He urged India and other countries to respond based on real facts and pay attention to the victims of the war.
