Vivo V80 Lite 5G Set to Make a Splash With Huge 10,000mAh Battery and 50MP Camera

Vivo is preparing to introduce a new smartphone that could attract buyers looking for long battery life. The Vivo V80 Lite 5G has been confirmed for launch in Malaysia on September 3, with its massive 10,000mAh battery expected to be the biggest talking point.

The company says the phone will be its first globally launched smartphone with a battery of this capacity, although the Vivo Y600 Pro already features a 10,000mAh battery in China.

What Will the Vivo V80 Lite 5G Look Like?

The V80 Lite 5G shown for the Malaysian market features a flat-frame design with a flat rear panel.

The smartphone is expected to be available in multiple colours, including black, green and pink. At the back, it features a square-shaped camera module housing a 50MP primary camera.

However, the design and specifications of the version eventually launched in India could differ from the Malaysian model.

An image of the phone had previously appeared on the Instagram account of an Indian online retailer, suggesting that an Indian launch could also be possible. Vivo, however, has not officially announced an India launch date yet.

10,000mAh Battery Is the Biggest Highlight

The biggest attraction of the Vivo V80 Lite 5G is undoubtedly its 10,000mAh battery.

A battery this large could provide significantly longer usage than many conventional smartphones, particularly for users who spend a lot of time watching videos, gaming, browsing or using mobile data.

However, battery capacity isn't the only factor that determines real-world battery life. The phone's processor efficiency, display, software optimisation and network usage will also play important roles.

The large battery could also affect the phone's weight and thickness, making its overall design an important factor for buyers.

Could Feature a 120Hz AMOLED Display

Several specifications of the Vivo V80 Lite 5G have reportedly surfaced, although not all of them have been officially confirmed.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. If these specifications are accurate, the display could offer smoother scrolling and a sharper viewing experience.

The camera setup is also expected to include a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP front camera.

Other reported features include Aura Light, stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

IP68 and IP69 Protection Could Be Included

The V80 Lite 5G is also rumoured to receive IP68 and IP69 ratings.

If confirmed, these ratings would indicate strong protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions. However, users should still follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding water exposure rather than treating the ratings as a guarantee that the phone is waterproof in every situation.

Processor and Charging Details Remain Unclear

There is still some uncertainty surrounding the phone's processor.

Some reports suggest that Vivo could use the Dimensity 7360 Turbo, while other reports point toward the Dimensity 7300e. The charging specification is also unclear.

Earlier reports mentioned 90W fast charging, while more recent information suggests that the phone could support 44W charging.

These details will need to be confirmed by Vivo before the phone's official specifications can be assessed.

Launch Could Be Interesting for Battery-Focused Buyers

With a huge 10,000mAh battery, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display and a 50MP camera, the Vivo V80 Lite 5G could appeal to users who prioritise endurance and everyday multimedia use.

The Malaysian launch on September 3 should provide more clarity about the phone's final specifications and pricing. Indian buyers will have to wait for an official announcement from Vivo before knowing whether and when the V80 Lite 5G will arrive in the country.
