Vaibhav Suryavanshi may be one of the youngest names in Indian cricket, but his decision-making on the field is already attracting attention. During the Duleep Trophy final, the youngster once again demonstrated his cricketing awareness by helping his team successfully overturn an umpire's decision through DRS.

With two successful DRS calls in the tournament so far, Suryavanshi has maintained a 100% success rate.

Vaibhav Makes Another Correct DRS Call

The latest example came during South Zone's first innings in the Duleep Trophy final.

There was a strong appeal against opener Ricky Bhui after wicketkeeper Kumar Kushagra took a catch off Mukesh Kumar's bowling. However, the on-field umpire initially turned down the appeal.

Suryavanshi, serving as vice-captain, quickly backed the decision to review the call and asked captain Ishan Kishan to take the DRS.

The review went in East Zone's favour, resulting in the umpire reversing the original decision and Bhui being given out.

The wicket came during the sixth over, with South Zone having scored just 10 runs at the time. Suryavanshi's quick assessment therefore helped his team secure an early breakthrough.

He Got It Right in the Semi-Final Too

This wasn't the first time Suryavanshi had made a successful DRS call during the tournament.

In the Duleep Trophy semi-final against Central Zone, he again made the right call when reviewing a decision involving Mukesh Kumar.

On that occasion, Suryavanshi was leading East Zone after Ishan Kishan was forced to leave the field because of a hand injury. Despite the additional responsibility of captaincy, the youngster made the correct call and helped his side secure the wicket.

Two Reviews, Two Successful Decisions

Suryavanshi has now been involved in two DRS calls during the Duleep Trophy, and both have proved to be correct.

That gives him a perfect 100% DRS success record in the tournament so far.

His ability to read situations and make quick decisions has added another dimension to his growing reputation. While comparisons with experienced players such as MS Dhoni may be flattering, Suryavanshi's DRS record shows that the youngster is already displaying impressive confidence and awareness on the field.

For a player still at the beginning of his career, his performances in the Duleep Trophy could provide another indication of the potential he possesses.
