An Indian engineer was shot dead by police in California, USA. The man, identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin, had reportedly been involved in a dispute with his roommate. Nizamuddin's family, from Telangana, has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs for assistance in retrieving his body. Nizamuddin had publicly complained about racial harassment and job difficulties before being shot.
Mohammad Nizamuddin earned a master's degree in computer science from Florida. He then worked at a California company, but was subsequently fired. In a LinkedIn post, Nizamuddin alleged that he had been wrongfully terminated and had been cheated out of his pay. Furthermore, Nizamuddin also shared a post about racial harassment.

Police shot Nizamuddin four times.
According to a report in the Times of India, Nizamuddin was shot four times. According to a statement from Santa Clara police, a 911 call was received regarding a stabbing. Police officers arrived at the scene immediately. Police said that when they arrived, a man was standing with a knife. When he refused to comply, he was shot. The statement also said that the man's roommate was lying down and was injured in several places. The incident occurred on September 3rd.
The family sought help from the Ministry of External Affairs
Majlis Bachao Tehreek spokesperson Amjad Ullah Khan met with Nizamuddin's family. He spoke with his father, Mohammad Hasnuddin, and other relatives. Amjad has written to the Ministry of External Affairs, requesting assistance. He wants to bring the body back to India. He also wrote in the letter that the matter be investigated seriously.
