The police has recovered the priceless Kalash stolen from a religious program of the Jain community from the Red Fort premises in Delhi. Another truth has come to light during police custody that the thief had stolen not one but three Kalash.
Red Fort Golden Kalash Accused Arrested: Police has recovered a golden Kalash worth crores of rupees stolen during a religious ritual of the Jain community from the historic Red Fort complex in Delhi. This incident happened when a big event of the Jain community was going on in 15 August Park. The Crime Branch took immediate action and arrested the accused from Hapur in Uttar Pradesh on the basis of CCTV footage. The theft of this precious Kalash had shocked the organizing committee and the entire Jain community, after which an in-depth investigation of the case was started.
This priceless Kalash was studded with about 760 grams of gold and about 150 grams of precious gems like diamonds, emeralds and rubies, the total value of which was estimated to be Rs 1 crore. Organizing committee member Puneet Jain said that this Kalash was not just a Kalash but also a symbol of deep faith for the Jain community. It was being used in various religious rituals for a long time and it was installed on a special platform every day during worship, where only authorized persons wearing traditional attire were allowed to go.
Not one, but three urns were stolen
The interrogation of the accused in police custody has brought a new twist to this case. The accused revealed that he had stolen not one but three urns. At present, the police have recovered only one urn and are continuously conducting raids to recover the remaining two urns. The police have also started searching for other accused involved in this gang so that the entire conspiracy can be exposed. This revelation further increases the seriousness of this case and has become a big challenge for the police.
The cunning of a thief wearing a dhoti
This entire theft incident was revealed after examining the CCTV footage. It was clearly seen in the footage that a man wearing a dhoti reached the place of worship very cleverly. Taking advantage of the situation, he put the precious Kalash in his bag and fled from there without anyone noticing. His act was captured on camera, which became the main basis for his arrest. With the help of this footage, the police identified the accused and caught him from his hideout in Hapur.NBT
