Technology Should Not Undermine Workers: What RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Said on Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh’s 70th Foundation Day

On the occasion of the 70th foundation day of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), a special event was held in Delhi, where Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat was present as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he shared strong views on the impact of technology on workers, the purpose of BMS, and its future role in shaping the country.

Technology Should Not Diminish Workers

Mohan Bhagwat raised concerns about how technology, while helpful, often dehumanizes work and dilutes the dignity of labour.

“Technology makes human nature rude and puts a question mark on the prestige of hard work,” he said.
He stressed that workers’ pain is society’s pain, and that it is important to ensure technological progress does not marginalize workers or strip them of their livelihoods.

Vision for BMS and the Country

The RSS chief reminded that BMS was not founded merely to raise slogans or flags, but to serve the cause of workers. He praised the journey of the organization that started on 23 July 1955 in Bhopal, and has now grown to become India’s largest labour organization and a major global voice.

On Sacrifice and Growth

Bhagwat recalled the early days of struggle, when BMS was only a dream in the minds of a few.

“In the beginning, no one thought of personal gain. Those who set out to ease the lives of workers never worried about their own families.”
He credited the sacrifice, dedication, and hard work of generations of volunteers for the growth of the organization.

Beyond Labour Rights: BMS and Broader Goals

Mohan Bhagwat highlighted that BMS has extended its vision beyond labour rights, working for social harmony, environmental protection, and promotion of Swadeshi.

“If we want to work ahead, we must reflect on our past,” he said, urging the organisation to continue driving positive change for the country and the world.
