Riteish Deshmukh is gearing up for his ambitious historical film Raja Shivaji, and the recently released trailer has significantly raised excitement among fans. The project is particularly special for Riteish, not only because he is directing the film himself and starring alongside Genelia D'Souza, but also because it marks a major milestone in his personal life—his son’s debut on the big screen.
The trailer opens with glimpses of the early life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and the childhood version of the legendary figure is portrayed by none other than Riteish and Genelia’s 10-year-old son, Rahil Deshmukh. This appearance officially marks Rahil’s entry into films, making Raja Shivaji even more meaningful for the Deshmukh family. Riteish had first announced the film back in 2024, and since then, updates had been limited until the trailer launch reignited buzz around the project.
Rahil, the younger son of the couple, steps into a significant role by portraying Shivaji Maharaj’s formative years. The couple’s elder son, Ryan, is also often seen with them at public events, where their family bond has been widely appreciated.
Apart from Riteish and Genelia, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, and Jitendra Joshi. Adding to the excitement, Salman Khan is also set to appear in a cameo role, reportedly portraying Jiva Mahal.
With a mix of grand storytelling, a powerful cast, and a personal touch through his son’s debut, Raja Shivaji is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films in the coming months.
