On the final day of the Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a dramatic announcement, claiming that the truth behind vote theft will soon be exposed like a “hydrogen bomb,” leaving Prime Minister Narendra Modi unable to face the nation.
Voter Rights Yatra Concludes in Patna
The Voter Rights Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, began on 17 August from Sasaram to highlight alleged irregularities in Voter List Revision (SIR) and vote theft in Bihar. Covering around 1,300 km across 25 districts, the yatra concluded in Patna, with several opposition leaders joining the campaign.
Rahul Gandhi Targets Vote Theft
Addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi said,
"This yatra was launched to highlight voter rights. Elections in Maharashtra were stolen from Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena. Nearly 1 crore new voters were added to the electoral rolls after the Lok Sabha elections. While our alliance won in the Lok Sabha, all new votes went to BJP in the Vidhan Sabha. Our three strong parties were wiped out despite winning."
He alleged that the Election Commission and BJP worked together to manipulate votes, revealing that over 1 lakh fake voters were identified in Mahadevapura. He also criticized the EC for denying access to voter lists and videography.
What Vote Theft Means
Rahul Gandhi explained,
"Vote theft is not just the theft of votes—it is the theft of rights, reservations, jobs, education, democracy, and the future of youth. They aim to take away your land, ration cards, and hand it over to corporate houses like Adani and Ambani."
He further warned that the same forces that historically targeted Mahatma Gandhi are now threatening the Constitution, emphasizing that Bihar’s youth actively participated in the yatra to defend democratic values. During the rally, BJP workers reportedly displayed black flags, reflecting the tense political atmosphere.
“The Hydrogen Bomb Is Coming”
Rahul Gandhi used a striking metaphor, stating,
"You have heard of the atom bomb. We dropped the atom bomb in Mahadevapura. Now, the hydrogen bomb is coming. The truth of vote theft will be revealed across the country. After this, Modi ji will not be able to show his face to the nation."
The remarks highlight the growing tension over voter list controversies in Bihar as the state assembly elections approach.
