Prakash Raj Breaks Silence on ‘Spirit’ Exit Rumours, Denies Fallout with Sandeep Reddy Vanga

The much-anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has once again found itself at the centre of speculation—this time over reports claiming that actor Prakash Raj has exited the project following alleged creative differences. Addressing the rumours head-on, Prakash Raj has now clarified his position, dismissing the reports as unfounded.

Spirit has been generating intense buzz since its announcement, marking the first collaboration between Prabhas and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. However, the film’s journey has not been free of controversy. Earlier, reports emerged about Deepika Padukone stepping away from the project, and more recently, speculation suggested that Prakash Raj had also walked out after a disagreement with the director.

‘Baseless Speculation,’ Says Prakash Raj

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Prakash Raj categorically denied the claims, stating that the reports circulating about his exit were “baseless speculations.” He added that he was unaware of any such developments and reaffirmed his association with the film.

Notably, an audio narration released last year for Spirit featured Prakash Raj’s voice, further reinforcing his involvement. Announced in 2021, the film has since been described as a high-octane action drama with an intense narrative—hallmarks of Vanga’s filmmaking style.

Cast Changes and Film Details

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit features Prabhas in the role of a police officer and is slated for release on March 5, 2027. While Prakash Raj has denied any exit, the film has already seen a confirmed casting change. Deepika Padukone, who was initially part of the project, reportedly opted out due to scheduling conflicts and her request for limited shooting hours. Following her departure, Tripti Dimri was cast as the female lead.
