PM-Kisan Update: Over 9.8 crore farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may release the latest installment of ₹2,000 per farmer on Friday, July 18, during a public rally in Motihari, Bihar. However, no official confirmation has been made yet by the government or on the PM-Kisan website.

What Is PM-Kisan Scheme?

The PM-Kisan scheme provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers, distributed in three installments of ₹2,000 each. These payments are directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). So far, 19 installments have been released, with the last one issued in February 2025. Usually, the June installment is timely, but this year there has been a delay.

Will the 20th Installment Be Released Today?

According to media reports, the 20th installment may be released on July 18, with PM Modi transferring funds at the click of a button. However, as of now, no official announcement has been made on the PM-Kisan website regarding the disbursal.

Eligibility Criteria for Receiving the Installment

To receive the ₹2,000 installment, beneficiaries must ensure the following:

• e-KYC must be completed.

• Bank account must be linked with Aadhaar.

• Land records must be verified and updated.

Steps to Update Land Information and Complete eKYC

1. Visit the PM-Kisan website.

2. Click on the ‘State Transfer Request’ option on the homepage.

3. Enter your registration number or Aadhaar number.

4. Enter the captcha code and click on ‘Get OTP’.

5. Submit the OTP sent to your registered mobile.

6. Upload your land ownership documents (like Khatauni or Khasra).

7. Verify the information and click Submit.

How to Check If Your Name Is on the Beneficiary List

1. Go to https://pmkisan.gov.in.

2. On the homepage, click on the yellow 'Dashboard' tab.

3. Under Village Dashboard, select:

   • State

   • District

   • Block

   • Panchayat

4. Click on ‘Get Report’.

5. Check if your name appears in the list.

Important Tips for Farmers

• Ensure your Aadhaar is linked with your bank account.

• Complete your e-KYC at the earliest.

• Make sure your land documents are updated and correct.

• Use the ‘Know Your Status’ feature on the PM-Kisan portal to check Aadhaar linking and payment status.
