Asim Munir on India: Without presenting any evidence, the Pakistan Army Chief alleged that 'India-backed groups' are engaged in spreading violence and disrupting development work in Balochistan.
At the start of the new year, Pakistan has once again displayed an aggressive stance. Without naming India, Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, issued a stern warning, stating that any direct or indirect violation of Pakistan's territorial integrity would be met with a "firm and decisive" response. This statement comes at a time when Pakistan itself is grappling with a serious problem of internal unrest and terrorism.
According to a statement
issued by the Pakistan Army, General Asim Munir made the remarks while addressing participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. He said Pakistan would go to any lengths to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Talk of regional peace, but the tone was threatening.
On the one hand, Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan's commitment to regional peace and stability, while on the other hand, he warned that any direct or indirect violation of Pakistan's territorial integrity would be met with a firm and decisive response.
The Pakistani army chief, without offering any evidence, accused "Indian-backed groups
" of spreading violence and disrupting development work in Balochistan. He said security forces would continue to take strong action to rid the province of terrorism and unrest.
India's counterattack:
Amidst this rhetoric from Pakistan, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav has made a serious allegation, exposing Pakistan's true nature. He said that Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, is sending weapons and ammunition to Punjab via drones.
Conspiracy to Disturb Punjab
In a press conference on Wednesday, DGP Yadav said that Pakistan is trying to portray Punjab as a "highly disturbed" state by promoting incidents like grenade attacks. He described this as part of a proxy war waged against India. The DGP stated that Pakistan's aim is to spread unrest in Punjab, which is why weapons are being sent via drones. He added that the masterminds of this network are based in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Gulf countries.
Punjab Police is foiling every conspiracy.
Gaurav Yadav stated clearly that the Punjab Police is foiling every conspiracy hatched by the ISI from across the border. Regarding the grenade attacks targeting police stations in Punjab, the DGP said that Pakistan seeks to disrupt peace in the border state, but security agencies are fully alert and are thwarting every attempt.
