In a stunning twist of fate, Rassie van der Dussen, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, has now been named captain of South Africa's T20 team for the upcoming tri-nation series in Zimbabwe. The tournament, which also includes New Zealand, kicks off on July 14, with the final scheduled for July 26 in Harare.
This announcement comes in the wake of Heinrich Klaasen’s retirement from international cricket, as he shifts focus entirely to T20 leagues around the world.
