A bizarre and heartbreaking case has emerged from Jodhpur’s Luni area, where a young man named Vijendra claims he was tricked into four fake marriages by his own neighbours. Despite spending nearly ₹3.85 lakh, Vijendra says he was left without a bride each time, and is now seeking justice from the police.
A Trail of Broken Mandaps and Empty Promises
Vijendra, reportedly struggling with loneliness, was approached by four neighbours — Pappu Bharti, Amar Bharti, Bhanwari Devi, and Rakesh Bharti — who promised to help him find a bride if he paid them.
-
First Marriage: The mandap was set, the procession went out in grand style, and the bride even arrived — only to leave within minutes.
-
Second Marriage: This time, the marriage was completed. But right after the ceremony, the bride fled on a train, leaving Vijendra stunned.
-
Third Marriage: As if two heartbreaks weren’t enough, the third attempt ended with both the bride and the priest vanishing mid-ritual.
-
Fourth Marriage: After marrying again, the bride refused to go with him during the “vidai” ceremony.
Threatened After Asking for Refund
Having realized the elaborate deception, Vijendra asked the four neighbours to return the ₹3.85 lakh he had spent on the so-called marriages. They allegedly asked for two months to repay the money but later threatened to frame him in a false case if he persisted.
Police Complaint Filed
Vijendra has now filed a complaint at the Luni Police Station against the four neighbours. He says he trusted them blindly and was left financially and emotionally broken. Now, his only hope is that the law will bring him justice for the betrayal he suffered.
