A shocking incident unfolded at the Community Health Center in Niwari, Madhya Pradesh, where on-duty doctor Satyendra Kaurav was brutally assaulted in his chamber on September 22. Within 48 hours of the attack, the police arrested all four accused — Balram Rajput, Deepu alias Deepak, Chandan Jatav, and Monu Sen — unraveling the details behind the assault.
During interrogation, the main accused Balram Rajput revealed that he had studied with Dr. Kaurav’s wife in school and remained on friendly terms with her. A day before the incident, the doctor had reportedly quarreled with his wife, who then asked Balram to “make her husband understand.” Acting on this, Balram and his friends stormed into the doctor’s chamber, beat him up, and threatened to kill him before fleeing.
The assault in broad daylight inside a busy hospital shocked the city. Hospital staff immediately treated the injured doctor and informed the police. CCTV footage showed three men with covered faces leaving the hospital premises, which helped investigators track the culprits. Superintendent of Police Dr. Raisingh Narwaria formed a special team under Additional SP Jyoti Thakur to nab the attackers, even announcing a reward of Rs 5,000 for information leading to their arrest.
During the probe, the police traced a black car used in the crime, registered to a Shivpuri resident, which was being driven by Deepu alias Deepak on the day of the assault. Acting on intelligence, a team was dispatched to Datia district, where all four accused were arrested. Meanwhile, Dr. Kaurav has refrained from giving any detailed statements about his wife’s involvement, choosing to remain silent on her role in the matter.
